Tonight’s the Night; B.C. Night That Is

Rhona Macintosh - The Core

Start with a little Rock and Roll, then slow things down by Fireside; make your way to Nipple Mountain; and when you’re ready: Bonanza! The best date of your life? Nope! Just a tour of some of the mining projects and quarries in beautiful British Columbia! Seeing as tonight is B.C. Night here at Roundup, how about getting down with your crazy self in the Stanley Park Ballroom? And why not boogie for B.C.? This province is scorching hot in the mineral exploration and mining industry.

First and foremost in the realm of what’s hot is the Northwest Transmission Line along the Highway 37 corridor. This line will electrify the north and spark major development. By liberating northern towns along the way from Terrace to Dease Lake from dependence on diesel fuel, this line will provide amazing opportunities for growth in the mineral exploration and mining industry, as well as many other sectors. “It’s a long time coming,” says District of Stewart Mayor, Angela Brand Danuser. For this port town, access to line is “fabulous… a good thing for the whole region.”

2010 looks great for Hawthorne Gold, up and coming producer, and current member of the Northwest Powerline Coalition. Their projects include sites at the Taurus, and Table Mountain deposits in the Cassiar Gold District. Hawthorne Gold at Roundup in the Core Shack, getting their name out and recruiting students for summer work. They are also one of many fine sponsors of BC Night.

The Northwest isn’t the only area set for big things. According to the British Columbia Geological Survey, prospectors are looking towards the Rocky Mountain Trench where deposits in rare earth metals are being discovered. There is a lot of area to explore and this is attracting junior companies looking make a discovery.

Now get out there, grab a drink, and let loose! Just don’t party too hard; you don’t want to look like a Turkey Mountain and end up in Blubber Bay.
