Curtain Call: Mineral Exploration Roundup 2010 takes a bow

The inflatable kangaroo at the CODES booth looks a little downcast today. Yes, Mineral Exploration Roundup 2010 has drawn to a close.
Delegates are slowly trickling out of the Westin Bayshore as exhibitors begin to dismantle their presentations. Tables are cleared of magazines, fact sheets and business cards. Last beers are shared amongst friends. The roar of thousands becomes the whisper of few.
Roundup 2010 has been a great success for all involved. Overwhelming generosity of delegates has raised thousands of dollars for Haiti relief, as well as BC Children’s Hospital “Mining for Miracles.”
High profile keynote speakers and guests such as Jean Chretien and Gordon Campbell have brought a new level of media attention to the event. With over 6000 delegates from 40 countries in attendance, AME BC was able to show that Vancouver truly is a world centre for the mineral exploration and mining industry. British Columbia is set look to that golden horizon and embrace the exciting new developments ahead.
If you enjoyed your time here at Roundup, but haven’t quite had your fill of mineral mayhem, check out PDAC 2010. The International Convention, Trade Show and Investors Exchange takes place March 7-10 in Toronto. Why not go? It’s only the biggest mineral exploration and mining convention in the world!
Farewell delegates. As you heave your bounty of free hats, baggage tags, chocolate, pens, and key chains over your shoulder and walk out the door, into the setting sun; turn and take one last, lingering look. Always take with you your memories of Roundup 2010, and don’t be sad, after all… IT”S ON AGAIN NEXT YEAR! See you there!
Mineral Exploration Roundup returns to The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver, January 24-27, 2011.
