Canvas Indoors: Map Tent at Mineral Exploration Roundup 2011

The Map Tent looks slightly out of place on the second floor of Roundup, just past the technical sessions. It may just be that canvas indoors looks odd to me but once you enter there are some pretty keen people hoping to show off some of their latest results.
With three large tables littered with colourful geological, geophysical and location maps there is a lot to see. Being a visual person I certainly find that the Map Tent is a great spot to learn more about some of the exploration projects that are happening, not just in BC, but around the world.
Today's fare was information on gold from Indonesia and Finland. Tomorrow you will find gold and copper-zinc-gold-silver projects from Alaska and a diamond project from Quebec.
As added incentive, the Map Tent is also just a little bit quieter than the neighbouring corridors, giving you a nice place to learn and relax a little.
